Our Coffees

Espresso Concepts buy the best grades of coffee available on the international market and constantly monitors activities at Top Estates. At any given time our Gauteng roastery has access to over 50 tonnes of coffee.

Our raw beans come from:
Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Vietnam, India, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Cameroon.

Although it is not common knowledge; African coffees are rated as the best in the world. We at Espresso Concepts have always known this and a large selection of our blends include African beans. So it is not surprising to us that most popular international coffees (and especially Italian coffee!) use African coffees in their blends too.

Each coffee bean needs to be roasted to its potential, and often can be used in a French roast or a medium. Some coffees are very good in Espresso and others can only be used for Filter coffee. Coffee is best roasted and delivered for freshness, imported coffees are gassed to give them shelf life; this is because coffee only lasts about a month before losing its fragrance and then taste.
So, local coffee can never be bettered, especially if buying from an established company. Espresso Concepts is the only company in South Africa to be a member of the “RAIN FOREST ALLIANCE” an organization committed to helping the employees of farms to earn liveable salaries. They also teach the farmers in the jungles and forests of the world to plant without destroying the environment. Espresso Concepts supplies decaffeinated coffee, Organic filter and espresso coffees.
