HONDURAS ORGANIC
Medium to Dark Roast – Recommended as an espresso, with or without milk:
Full bodied origin bean with citrus qualities. Certified organic, hand picked and rainforest alliance registered.
Organic refers to the methods used to grow and harvest a crop. Organic coffee is grown and produced without the aid of artificial chemical substances, such as certain additives, pesticides and herbicides and when considered for organic certification a number of other factors also need to be considered. The fertilizer used must be 100% organic, coffee should be grown on land that has not been exposed to synthetic pesticides or other prohibited substances for approximately 3 years prior, a sufficient buffer should exists between the organic coffee and the closest conventional crop and a sustainable crop rotation plan needs to be in place to prevent erosion, the depletion of soil nutrients, and natural control for pests. Ask for certificates when buying organic coffees to protect yourself and your valued customers as some organic coffee’s are mixed with non-organic coffee’s to reduce the price. Remember; if it’s not 100% organic it’s not organic at all.
DECAF COFFEE
Dark Roast – Recommended extraction is as an espresso:
For our Decaffeinated coffee we use a natural Columbian CO2 processed. A direct decaffeination process involves the use of carbon dioxide as a solvent. The coffee beans are soaked in compressed CO2, which removes 97 percent of the caffeine. The solvent containing the extracted caffeine evaporates when the beans return to room temperature.
