Last week we became sponsor members of SCASA, the Speciality Coffee Association of South Africa. SCASA, under the visionary banner of having a “United Passion for Coffee” is committed to many of the same values as ourselves; a focus on quality, a spirit of co-operation, education and training, a concern for environmental impact, ethical practice and creating employment opportunities in this exciting industry.

The coffee industry in South Africa is a relatively new one when compared to Europe and the USA and we are still in the process of defining our coffee culture and discovering new and innovative ways of doing things in this dynamic space. It is through the development of organisations such as SCASA that we begin to see the progress of the industry that we are so proud to have been a part of for the better part of 25 years.

SCASA , amongst other things, co-ordinates and organises the SA Barista competitions.
